Sorry for the really crappy picture guys but I wanted to get it done so Peter finished all his classes and honestly I should have been doing homework instead of this but I want to do something for the class so here you go.

Anyway Peter made sausage rolls since everyone did jelly treats or something sweet. Peter made a lot so he is now happily enjoying the food, after he show the teacher of course. Peter is a good student he would not eat all of his project before showing him lol.

any ways sorry for quality issues guys, now here is the report he did.

Define gelatinization

"Gelatinization is a process that uses heat and water to dissolve starch granules in a body, and causes whichever liquid mixed up to thicken. This process is regularly found in custards and roux, amongst other preparations."

Identify a range of sweet and savory dishes that illustrate this property.

"Sweet: Lemon Merigue Pie, Bnoffi Pie, Apple and Rice Pudding"

"Savoury: Fisherman's Pie, Vegetable Soup, Quiche, Suasage Rolls, Curry, Lasagne, Cheese Souffle, Maccaroni Cheese, Chicken and Ham Pie."

Investigate and elaborate on the application of gelatinization in the making of sweet and savory dishes and explain the scientific principle involved. 

"Like the above definition stated Gelatinization is the process where the starch and water are subjected to heat making the starch granules swell, resulting in that the water is gradually absorbed in an irreversible manner. This gives the system a viscous and transparent texture. The result of the reaction is a gel, which is used in sauces, puddings, creams and other food products, providing a pleasing texture to the touch.

The most common example to explain this phenomenon is pasta preparation: pasta is made mostly of semolina wheat (wheat flour) that contains high amounts of starch. When it is cooked in boiling water, the size increases because it absorbs water and it gets a soft texture. In my case, the ingredients in making bread are combined with water in order to make dough. Once the dough is place around the hot dogs they are heated, causing them to expand do to the dough having starch in it."
